So I am sick and in bed and therefore with some time to write again. So today I will write about my my dream vintage car garage. Although I usually prefer new cars and I grow older I have come to appreciate the beauty of some oldies. So without any more chat, here is the list in no particular order.
Citröen SM 1972
Back when Citröen was an independent carmaker and they had bought Maserati, they took the technology they had developed for the DS and made the fastest GT car of the time. The SM was owned by Hollywood celebrities and international jet-setters. As old Citröen's had some wacky stuff. Instead of a brake pedal it had a button. It featured the hydro-neumatic suspension, rear disc brakes located inside the car and a V6 engine built by Maserati. The car was also incredibly aerodynamic and could do over 25 MPG on the highway.

My favorite songs from Spain
So the robot article will have to wait since I have been busy. But today I want to share the list of my favorite songs Pop/Rock from Spain. There are not arranged in any particular order. Enjoy and leave your comments. Thank you :)
The First One is called Negrita (Black Girl) by a group called La Union (that disbanded some years ago, I think). It is of course a love song and when you first listen to it, its melody surrounds you like a soft and sweet kiss. here are the lyrics untranslated because in English they wouldn't make sense.

Negrita La Union
The second song is a bit older its from a group called Mocedades (also disbanded), it's called La Otra España (The Other Spain). Mocedades is a group conformed by 4 singers (2 female and 2 male) plus an orchestra. The meaning of the song is debated after many years (song was recorded in 1975). At that time Spain was ruled by a dictator called Franco (he would die later that year) so the song could be a metaphor for the true heart of Spain, the one that was sent into exile by the dictatorship.

The third song is by a group called Mecano (also disbanded) it was made by 2 brothers and a female singer. One of the brothers Nacho Cano released his own Album called El Lado Femenino (sang entirely by female singers) and the main singer Ana Torroja has a solo career. The song is a sort of a fable, about a gypsy kid, son of the moon.
Here are the lyrics with a translation (that doesn't make sense but I post it anyway)

Good Monsters and Robots
Since visual effects have no limits now, I am going to make my list of the best monsters and robots from film and animation. Later I will have the list of the worst ones. Enjoy! :)
Cinema monsters (in order of which I can remember)
Alien (created by Hans Rudolf "Ruedi" Giger a swiss artist) it happen as the producer's of the movies (including Ridley Scott, saw his necromance series of paintings and brought him to design the monster for the 1979 movie.
The second monster is the Rancor from Star Wars, The Return of the Jedi. Living in Jabba's pit it is killed by Luke Skywalker. Drew by Joe Johnston and created and made a puppet by ILM for the 1983 movie.
The Predator
"Created by brothers Jim and John Thomas, the Predators are depicted as large, sapient and sentient humanoid creatures who possess advanced technology, such as active camouflage and energy weapons, and are capable of interstellar travel."
Taken from the wikipedia page on The Predator. It was designed by Stan Winston allegedly with input from James Cameron.
Godzilla, known in Japan as Gojira first appeared in the 1954 movie of the same name. It has been in 28 movies, including one made in the US. Godzilla is a nuclear accident lizard that has incredible powers. It is the blueprint from which all lizard monsters are created from.
Medusa from Clash of the Titans. (original). Designed by Ray Harryhausen, this 1981 movie and one of the last stop motion animation movies created a very scary nemesis for Perseus.
Why I didn't add King Kong or the T-Rex / Velociraptors from Jurassic park?
Since they are based on real creatures they are not really monsters just super sized animals.

The Witch from Snow White. The scariest witch on movies, bar none.

[ ] sci-fi tv shows
Last night I couldn't sleep so I began thinking about sci-fi TV shows that I like. I guess it was because I was watching Sea Quest DSV before I went to bed. So i got thinking on what it takes for a TV show to appeal to me. I have to admit that I really care about their toys. Do they have a cool starship? submarine? I also began to think how old TV shows technology compare to real life in 2010...
SeaQuest DSV 1993 - 1996
So the sub was launched in 2014. So we are clearly not even close to have a sub like that. However the inside of the sub is pretty backward. their screens are super low rez, Their virtual reality is quite silly and they still use discs to store their music. They have nothing like an iPhone or iPad working there. Did I mention their monitors are thick??
I guess this establishes a common pattern, their big tech is far away but their small stuff is way behind...
